According to the Gabriele Münter- and Johannes Eichner-Foundation in Munich this work is registered in Münters workbooks as being painted on the "17.3./18.3. 1960" and entitled as "Dahlien und Rosen in braunem Krug". The numbering "(50/42)" relates to a similar painting that was painted in 1942 and which belonged to the artists collection throughout her whole life.
