Haus Lange, Krefeld: "Lehmbruck – Kolbe – Mies van der Rohe. Künstliche Biotope"

April, 18 – August, 29 2021

The first exhibition highlight of the year at Haus Lange in Krefeld is about three outstanding artists: Wilhelm Lehmbruck, Georg Kolbe and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
Figurative sculpture, as it was repeatedly integrated into designs and buildings by the architect Mies van der Rohe, is in direct dialogue with the building, the design and the gardens of Villa Lange. The background for the interplay between architecture and sculpture is the natural philosophical climate that influenced very different disciplines at the beginning of the 20th century. On display are around 15 sculptures by Lehmbruck and Kolbe as part of the organic body of Haus Lange.
