Not far from our gallery, the Kunstarchiv Kaiserswerth is showing the exhibition "BERND + HILLA BECHER - PHOTO + DRUCKGRAPHIK" until December 19.
The work of Bernd and Hilla Becher has a legendary international reputation. It acquired this reputation not least through the constant exhibition and publication activities that the artist couple pursued alongside their photographic work for over 50 years. The current exhibition combines representative photographs of the Bechers with printed works of various kinds, which exemplify the development of their work as well as the history of its reception. The view of posters, art prints, books, brochures, magazines, and invitation cards in combination with photographs conveys a vivid impression of the many appearances and readings that the Bechers' world of motifs has undergone.
A presentation by Studio Becher in cooperation with the City of Düsseldorf and the Photographische Sammlung/SK Stiftung Kultur, Cologne.
