"Bildrausch. Lovis Corinth"

The exhibition “Lovis Corinth – Bildrausch” takes the visitor on a journey through the fascinating creative process of one of the most influential German painters and graphic artists of the first half of the 20th century. For the first time, twelve sketchbooks by the artist from the Kunstforum Ostdeutsche Galerie collection are being broken down. In juxtaposition with paintings from the museum's own collection and loans from other museums, they provide insightful glimpses into Corinth's choice of motifs and themes. Technical analyses of his painting techniques provide in-depth information about the creation of his pictures. Visitors can immerse themselves in Corinth's world of ideas by digitally leafing through his sketchbooks. The exhibition marks the 100th anniversary of Corinth's death in July 2025.
