Stephan Balkenhol im Lehmbruck Museum

Fascinating exhibition in Duisburg / 22 October 2020 - 28 February 2021

Starting with his early sculptures from the mid-1980s, the exhibition extends to the present day and sheds light on the intellectual and cultural-historical references in Balkenhol's work. The exhibition was created in close cooperation with the artist. In addition to his wood sculptures and reliefs, numerous drawings and plaster models provide insights into his creative process and his artistic world of ideas.

With more than 200 exhibits, the exhibition at the Lehmbruck Museum in Duisburg is the largest museum exhibition of Stephan Balkenhol in Germany since 2008. The exhibition at the Lehmbruck Museum was created in close cooperation with the artist. A special highlight is a group of head sculptures, which was produced especially for the Duisburg exhibition and is now being presented for the first time.
