Soulmates

Alexej von Jawlensky and Marianne von Werefkin

The exhibition in Wiesbaden presents Werefkin's idiosyncratic oeuvre in combination with that of her long-time companion Alexej von Jawlensky. The exhibition is a cooperation with the Munich Lenbachhaus. The exhibition shows 199 paintings and graphic works as well as photographs and documents that superimpose the life and work of the two artistic personalities.

„This friendship changed my life. I became the friend of her, of this smart, brilliant woman.“

Alexei von Jawlensky in his memoirs of his first meeting with Marianne von Werefkin, 1892

The exhibition at the Museum Wiesbaden runs until 23 August.
