Neues Museum in Nürnberg, Staatliches Museum für Kunst und Design, Nuremberg:
"Gerhard Richter. On Display"
All year round
Gerhard Richter is among the highlights at Neues Museum. With around thirty works on permanent loan from the Böckmann Collection, the Museum has one of the largest public collections of his work. Long considered one of today’s most important artists, the German painter’s diverse oeuvre, ranging from blurred photograph pictures to abstract paintings, is an ongoing challenge to the way we see.
Thanks to the generous support of the Bavarian State Ministry for Science and Art’s “kultur.digital.vermittlung” funding project, this body of work can now be accessed in a new way: a multimedia guide accessible via each visitor’s personal smartphone offers varied information about the pictures on show for young and old. We invite you to immerse yourself in Richter’s visual worlds and to rediscover this great artist’s work.
Guided tours of the exhibition introduce visitors to the range of information offered by the multimedia guide, as well as allowing visitors to gain further insights by discussing their questions and their impressions of the works on show.
