Foundation of the artist group “Die Brücke” in association with his classmates Erich Heckel, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Fritz Bleyl

Acquaintance with Doris Große who had been his favorite model until 1911

Relocation to Berlin and foundation of the private school of arts “MUIM-Institut” in conjunction with Hermann Max Pechstein

“Chronik der Brücke” (Brücke chronicle) led to the ending of the group
