Henri-Edmond Cross is born Henri-Edmond-Joseph Delacroix in Douai, France.

He studies at the École des beaux-arts in Paris, where he learns the basics of painting.
1886
The artist renounces his family name so as not to be confused with Henri-Eugène Delacroix.
1893
Cross moves to the south of France.
1897
Cross becomes an active member of the Société des Artistes Indépendants, a group of artists in favour of Impressionism and Pointillism.
1908
The artist undertakes his last trip to Italy.
1910
Henri-Edmond Cross dies in Saint-Clair.
