Walter Ophey

Walter Ophey is an important representative of Rhenish Expressionism and a committed pioneer of modernism in Germany. He was a co-founder of the Sonderbund, the group "Das Junges Rheinland" and the "Rheinische Sezession", on whose board he was. His independent style is always attached to nature, despite his ever-increasing abstraction.
